Erik's 7th Birthday Blast!

Erik turned seven! He celebrated at school with donuts for his friends on Friday. At home we opened gifts from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and Mom, Dad, & Kyle all week. The big party with all his friends was Sunday. Greg built a real cannon (hooked up to an air compressor) to shoot pirate targets. Also the kids (20 to be exact!) got to build real pirate ships (thanks again to Greg's wood-working skills) and race it down a river (made from a gutter). I was so busy "partying" that I didn't take many pictures. Needless to say we were exhausted from all the "fun."

Keep listening Erik.....

It was 6:15AM. Kyle came to wake me up and ask if he could go downstairs.
I said, "Yes, but please be quiet because your brother is still sleeping." As he walked by Erik's room he whispered, "Sshh." I didn't hear this, but Greg did.
A few minutes later Erik came into my room too. He was quite excited and said, "MOM! GOD SPOKE TO ME!"
I said, "Wow! What did He say?"
Erik replied, "He said, 'Sshh'."
And I immediately said, "What do you think that means?"
Erik said, "I don't know!"
He was very serious during this whole encounter and super cute. Greg set us both straight and said, "No, Erik, that was Kyle--but keep listening for God."

End of summer

Just a few pictures of our family from September.

First Day of School

Erik started first grade. On the first morning I woke him up and he said, "Thank you Mommy for waking me up....I can't WAIT to wear my uniform." And after the first day he said, "On Wed the 24th we have school pictures and we can wear whatever we want. But I still want to wear my uniform that day." I wonder when the novelty will wear off?

Kyle started K4. He loves going to school all day! He came home after the second day and called me "honey" all day long. "Honey, no." "Honey, we can do that tomorrow." "Honey, maybe later."

Ohio (post #2)

Our second part of the trip to Ohio was spent with the Rarey side of the family. My brother Chip got married! My pictures are pretty terrible, but I had to share them anyway. The cousins all had a great time together. Congrats to Chip and Meredith!

Ohio (Post #1)

We took at trip to Ohio the first week of August. We tried to keep the boys busy. We went miniature golfing, visited a couple playgrounds, took a few hikes, & went bowling. But mostly it was fun to spend time with Gramma & Papa!
